Pierini

Grown up in Genova, he plays the guitar since the age of 6. He first approches liuteria as a teenager making his first musical instruments. He partecipated in stages by very best qualified maestri as Fender Custom Shop, Gibson Factory, Martin, Karrivee, Mc allister, Lauden and worked several years in various work-shops on italian territory. He abandoned classical – traditional manufactoring so to completely dedicate himself to modern acoustic and electric guitar acheving an immediate world level awards. Since year 2000 Carlo Pierini owns and runs “Guitarland” in Genova, a liuteria and stringed-instrument workshop, music school and auditorium located in an historical building that since 2004 has become Patrimony of Unesco.
Since 2013 he has opened a second workshop in Parma focused in repairing, customizing and manfactoring stringed-instruments.
He has taken care of all restoration of instrument belonging to Maestro Carlo Palladino, among whose guitars are also included the “Mozzani” belonged to Maestro Segovia (published in the book “the wood that sings” by Grimaldi/Giardino) and one of the three very rare existing model in the world belonged to Maestro Francisco Gonzales of 1869, this guitar earned the cover photo on “american-lutherie” in december 2010.
Since 2005 he collaborates with Maestro Claudio Guidetti taking care of his stringed instruments collection. Since 2010 he is responsible for the care of Luigi Tenco guitares which also include the Carlo Raspagni with which the maestro was awarded the second prize at the first national competition of modern guitar in 1961.
In 2011 he was also appointed the care and keeping of the guitar belonged to Fabrizio De Andre’ exposed at the museum dedicated to the artist.
In 2014 a close working collaboration begins with Eros Ramazzotti dealing with the keeping of his private collection and all the instruments of his studio “ L’ isola” in Milan.
Several are the guitarists who play one of Carlo Pierini’s instruments including Tuck Andress (Tuck and Patty), Brian Morgan (Lauren Hill, Steve Wonder, George Benson), Massimo Varini (Mina, Pausini,Vasco, Bocelli, Nek, Raf, Antonacci) Claudio Guidetti, Eros Ramazzotti, Beppe Gambetta, Fabio Moretti (Vecchioni), Enrico Pinna (Karnataka), K (Blindosbarra), Davide L’abbate, Pier Gonella (Labhirynth, Necrodeth, Mastercastle), Paolo Costa, Giorgio Secco, Davide Tagliapietra and many others.
Nel 2006 vince il primo premio assoluto a New York indetto da SoulMate Guitar come “Best Bass design of Last 20 years”.
